At S1's urging I got off my wallet and ordered a Nesika model M now to put S1 to the test can this monster of a cartridge be put to use (accurately and efficiently) in a rifle that weighs around 12 lbs. The only have to's in this project,

"Don't bother if you don't use a Nesika action" and I won't use any other glass than Nightforce so that being said. The Nightforce is not the lightest scope on the planet..... but it is the only one that guarantees no POI shift when dropped 100 feet from a helicopter in a starlight case. So that is good enough for me.

3 lbs. for the action and bottom metal....
3 lbs. for the night force and rings.......

That leaves a scant 6 lbs. for the Wolf barrel, brake and stock....

I smell copious amounts of carbon fiber.......



Sounds like you will need a Lone Wolf carbon fiber stock at 1.7 lbs. for the stock, pillars and bedding.........

We better call Dave and figure out how to get a Carbon fiber Wrapped barrel, 32 inches long, to weigh in at 4 lbs.

The old cliche is not true, money does not grow on trees. Money grows in the wallets of the people who manufacture carbon fiber components.

Well since our last installment of how to empty your wallet, things have changed just a bit. Without spending exorbitant amounts of cash to do destructive testing on carbon wrapped barrels the barrel i was going to go with would weigh nearly 6lbs. so........ I went from an 1.470 Nesika action and 1.470 carbon wrapped barrel to a 1.350 Nesika action and an 1.350 Lilja fluted barrel.

so..... where does this leave me I am hoping that the whole thing can weigh 15lbs or less. Lone Wolf carbon stock, Nightforce aluminum and Titanium rings and a Titanium brake custom made by S1. We might just make it.
