While I'm won't be building a 6.5x47 Lapua rig anytime soon, I've been pretty intrigued by this cartridge and have a few questions that I'm not really finding answers to (and if they are, I'm doubting the source).

1. What would you consider an optimal barrel length for general precision shooting? It seems like you'd be able to use a shorter barrel than say a .260rem or the 6.5 Creedmoor, but I haven't been able to confirm this.

2. Any reason to chose the Lapua over the Remington or Creedmoor?

3. What would be the optimal pill and weight for target shooting in the Lapua?

4. How is the Lapua different from the Tubbs 6.5 XC?

1. 21.5 to 22" with the 108 Scenar and short range work (400yds. and closer)

2. Better brass more firings per case, and better accuracy.

3. At what range? 0 to 400 yds. 108 Scenar and RL-15, 400 to 800 yds. 123 Scenar and RL-17, past 800 use the 130 Berger VLD and RL-17.

4. Not different enough, start with the best brass, Lapua.
